Program(s) Name and Description: Educational Technology

To help students make educated decisions regarding their program of study, Chesapeake College is required to provide additional information beyond a program description of an academic program that leads to gainful employment, primarily certificate programs. Below is information about estimated cost of a program, including the estimated cost of books, median loan debt of students who completed the program, the number of credits/semesters for completion based on full-time status and a cross-walk is provided with information regarding potential employment options upon completion of this certificate program. For more detailed academic information regarding courses, pre-requisites and course offerings, students should consult our college catalog.

Educational Technology: The Educational Technology certificate is designed to meet the needs of classroom teachers who want to apply technology to the learning process and/or for individuals wishing to develop leadership skills as site-based technology coordinators. The Educational Technology certificate is intended to develop a broad range of technological expertise while at the same time focusing clearly on the new way that technology is changing how students and educators create and understand knowledge. Participants in the program will learn the new role of information, not as isolated facts but as building blocks to develop cognitive skills. Students should consult with an academic advisor in planning an appropriate program. Admission is limited to those holding a current Maryland State Teaching Certificate.
