8 Easy Steps to Register

Step 1 - Complete a College Application

  • Submit a college application to: Chesapeake College, Office of Admissions, P.O. Box 8, Wye Mills, MD 21679. Applications can be obtained from the Admissions office, or there is a PDF Application form online.

Step 2 - Take the ASA (Academic Skills Assessment)

  • All students who plan to work toward a degree or certificate, or enroll in a general education course must take the ASA prior to course registration. There is no fee to take the ASA the first time. No appointment is necessary. You must bring your social security number and a photo id. Contact the Testing Center at ext. 344 for testing dates, times, and exemption policy information.

Step 3 - Meet with an Advisor

  • Discuss your assessment results with an academic advisor, who will assist you in developing an academic plan and selecting courses for the upcoming semester.

Step 4 - Register for Classes

  • Check out the college's academic calendar for new student registration dates. Review course selections by going CRAB (Chesapeake Registration and Beyond: Online Services for Students) and exploring course options. Work with your academic advisor to register for classes. (Eligible students may register online.)

Step 5 - Explore Financial Aid

  • Contact the Financial Aid office at ext. 252 to inquire about financial aid and scholarships.

Step 6 - Pay Your Bill

  • Pay your tuition bill either when you register or by the due date on your bill. Payments can be made in person, online, or by mail. A Deferred Tuition Payment Plan is available to students whose bills exceed $400. Contact the Business office at ext. 400 for more information.

Step 7 - Attend New Student Orientation

  • Prior to each fall and spring semester, a new student orientation session is held to share information about college activities, services, and policies. Call ext. 250 for orientation information.

Step 8 - Commit to Academic Success!

  • Use CRAB (Online Services for Students) to review the class schedule, print your AER (Academic Evaluation Report), register for classes (eligible students only), look up your grades, and stay in touch with your instructors and advisor.
