Advanced Credit Initiative
Talbot County Public Schools - Chesapeake College Early College Partnership
Combine your AP credits with Dual Enrollment! TCPS offers 11 Advanced Placement courses. Nine are eligible for Chesapeake College Credit with a score of "3" or better on the AP test. Dual Enrollment courses - whether taken at your high school or any Chesapeake College campus - can add to your Advanced Credit Portfolio.
How the program works:
- Chesapeake will work closely with TCPS students and Guidance Offices through all four years of students' high school careers, and offer four DE courses per year onsite.
- DE courses are meant to complement TCPS AP offerings, helping students maximize their number of potential college credit.
- Dual Enrollment Program admission requirements
Program Benefits
- Students save time to degree
- Parents save money on college education, paying 75% of regular college tuition
- Students learn about college expectations, which will pay future dividends
- Tuition/fees comparison, 3-credit course:
