PURPOSE:
The PC Systems Specialist program is a technical support program that prepares students to install, set up, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software for microcomputers.

OCCUPATIONAL GOALS:
PC Support Technician, Technical Support Specialist, Help Desk Technician, and Computer Repair Technician.

PROGRAM:
The program gives students an understanding of how computers work from both hardware and software perspectives, with an emphasis on technical support. The fundamental goal is to enable students to function successfully in solving systems problems such as installing software, setting up PCs, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining hardware and software in a computing environment. Business and communications courses will enhance the student’s background for good end-user support. Students should consult with an academic advisor in planning an appropriate program.
