PURPOSE:
The Associate of Science degree program in Computer Science is designed for persons who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree program in computer sicence.

PROGRAM:
The Computer Science curriculum provides a theoretical and practical background which can eventually lead to computer-oriented careers in a variety of settings. In addition to required courses in computer science and mathematics, students are encouraged to interact with other disciplines. Thus, a wide range of elective opportunities are available. Students should acquaint themselves with the requirements of the major department at the college or university to which transfer is contemplated, and also consult with an academic advisor in planning an appropriate program. The College's transfer advisor can provide additional information regarding the transfer requirements of institutions within the University of Maryland system.
