PURPOSE:
The curriculum in Crime Scene Technician has been developed and maintained in cooperation with the Maryland State Police, Maryland Natural Resources Police and local police agencies. The curriculum provides a broad foundation which will help prepare the student for entry or advancement in the field of crime scene investigation.

OCCUPATIONAL GOALS:
Advancement within the Profession, Commercial or Industrial Security Officer, Local, State, or Federal Enforcement Officer, and Private or Governmental Investigator.

PROGRAM:
The Crime Scene Technician program is designed to prepare students for entry-level placement and advancement opportunities in the field of crime scene investigation. The curriculum includes discussion of the criminal motives associated with particular crimes, courtroom presentation, and the legal and ethical responsibilities of the crime scene technician. In addition to courses in Criminal Justice, students will also take courses in related areas and in general education. Students should consult with an academic advisor in planning an appropriate program.
