Chesapeake hosting youth baseball camps
Players, coaches stressing ´fun and fundamentals´

WYE MILLS, February 12 – Chesapeake College´s baseball players and coaches are conducting youth baseball camps each Saturday in February for children ages 5-12.

Frank Szymanski, Chesapeake´s head baseball coach and athletic director, said the camps focus on "fun and fundamentals."

"We go over hitting, fielding, base running, and game situations," said Szymanski, who has coached Chesapeake College to regional playoff berths each of his first five seasons with the Skipjacks. "I think everyone – kids, players, coaches – are enjoying the camps."

Szymanski is running the camp in conjunction with Easton Little League. Children from Easton Little League pay $20. Others may register for $50.

Children 5-8 years old participate in a 9-10:30 a.m. session while children 9-12 years old participate from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

"We usually have about 50 kids in each group," said Szymanski.

Anyone interested in registering their child for camp should contact Becky Fauver at 410-822-5400, 758-1537, or 228-4360, extension 259.
