Harcum presses past Skipjacks, 112-92
Chesapeake men can’t handle press from 14th-ranked Bears
WYE MILLS Antonio Bumpus scored a game-high 27 points, including a trio of three-pointers, as 14th-ranked Harcum College pulled away from host Chesapeake College for a 112-92 men’s basketball victory last Tuesday night. It was the closest game of the season for Harcum, which has won its other five games by an average of 44 points.
The Skipjacks, who trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half, twice grabbed the lead in the first half. The last time was via an 11-0 run as they took a 38-37 lead before Harcum’s vaunted press began forcing turnovers.
Andre Paulk added 22 points for Harcum. Josh Owens led the Skipjacks (1-4) with 22 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
