Del Tech-Terry tops ’Jacks with strong first half
Reese scores Chesapeake’s only goal in 4-1 men’s soccer setback

WYE MILLS – Delaware Tech-Terry Campus built a 3-0 halftime lead Monday afternoon on the way to a 4-1 men’s soccer victory over Chesapeake College.

Cody Reese scored the only goal for Chesapeake (1-4). Matt Borders, Ariel Espinoza, Omar Jarwan and Alvenso Honore each scored for Del Tech (3-5).

Lucas Hayman made four saves in goal for Chesapeake.

"We’re a little banged up right now, especially in the back," said Chesapeake head coach Mark Dennis, who praised Reese, Jake Williams and Adam Remesch for playing well in new positions to compensate for the Skipjacks’ injuries.

"Our guys are playing hard and practicing hard," added Dennis, who said he expects "better things are we get through this stretch of four games in eight days."

The Skipjacks host Del Tech-Wilmington Campus Wednesday and the College of Southern Maryland Friday in 4 p.m. contests.
