Rockville answers Skipjacks’ rally with one of its own
Davis and Harris power 12-0 run down the stretch in Knights’ victory
WYE MILLS Porcha Davis and Yasmine Harris split the points in a 12-0 scoring spree Friday night that wiped out a five-point Chesapeake lead in the final five minutes of Montgomery College Rockville’s 80-74 women’s basketball victory.
Davis finished with a game-high 21 points and Harris added 19 for the Knights (8-3 overall, 3-2 Maryland JuCo). Teammate Alex Silva contributed 18 points for Rockville.
Chesapeake (4-7, 3-2) had used a 25-11 run to build a 69-64 lead and seemingly gain control of the contest. Ashley Molock (team-high 20 points) scored nine points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer, and Deja Acree (14 points) added eight during the run, which started with consecutive layups by Ashleigh Jones (19 points).
Jen Carr scored 13 points as the Skipjacks’ fourth double-digit scorer.
