Adults enter these free classes to improve their basic reading, writing, math, life and job skills.
While learners taking ABE classes improve fundamental academic skills it is often also their first step in preparing to earn their a high school diploma. Many people progress to our Pass the GED® Test classes after completing these basic classes.
You’ll work with an experienced instructor, printed text, and computers, and will learn in one-to-one and small group environments.
Each session runs for approximately 16 weeks.
Classes meet throughout Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot Counties.
Classes are generally held 2 or three days/evenings per week and last 2.5 – 3 hours.
As a student enrolled in our program, you will be provided with:
- an assessment of your abilities and needs - both at time of entry and at subsequent times when considered appropriate,
- an individualized learning program based on your needs, interests, and goals, matching these with academic skills, life, and job skills,
- instructional materials including textbooks, for use in classes, .and access to computers for instruction.
Registration Sessions are offered weekly throughout at locations convenient to you in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot Counties, Maryland. You may register at any location.
