Anyone wishing to be employed as a nursing assistant in Maryland must complete a nursing assistant course. This course is designed to instruct students on how to function in a healthcare environment utilizing professional standards of conduct. Courses are held in a skills lab classroom and also include a clinical aspect on site at a long term nursing facility as well as a CPR for Healthcare Providers class. The course meets the requirements and is approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Class size is limited to eight students. PERFECT ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY.
To register for the Nursing Assistant program, potential students must complete the Pre-requisites below and attach their “Approval Verification Form” to their registration along with payment or Sponsorship Authorization form. Course fee: $1095 ($1120.00 NEW PRICE begins for courses starting after July 1, 2011), scrub uniform, appropriate shoes and a watch are required by the second week of class. - Register for and attend a “CAREER PLANNING FOR CNA/GNAs” class
- A minimum score of 45 on the college’s Reading Comprehension Placement Test
