Rider Skills Practice
This course is designed for the Basic Rider Course student or the Alternate Basic Rider Course student who needs additional riding time prior to re-testing for their Maryland motorcycle license, or for more experienced licensed riders who want to practice their riding skills and gain confidence prior to riding on the roadways. Class will provide practice in starting, stopping, clutch/throttle control, turning, shifting, and crash avoidance techniques. This is not a course for licensure or geared for returning riders. If you have not ridden in years, choose the Basic Rider Course or the Alternate Basic Rider Course. All students pay $55 course fee.
All sessions will be held at the Motorcycle Range (1 session).
Upon completion student should be able to:
- Operate the clutch and throttle controls smoothly
- Demonstrate proper and safe starting and stopping techniques
- Execute gradual turns and limited space maneuvers
- Perform at a riding practice speed of at least 15 mph
