The Peake Players
of Chesapeake College

The Peake Players are a group of Chesapeake College students, in addition to some talented community members, who join together to produce some of the finest productions on the Eastern shore. The Peake Players are under the direction of Chesapeake College theatre instructor Anita Tecce.

Each semester the Peake Players offer two or three student productions. Larger productions are held in the Todd Performing Arts Center and smaller productions in the Louise Cadby Theater, Room 117 of the Chesapeake College Humanities Building.

In the summer, the Peake Players present an audience participation murder mystery dinner theatre, which is extremely popular with Eastern shore audiences.

All students are invited to audition for and participate in Peake Players productions. Faculty, staff, and community members are also welcome.

In addition to performing, the Peake Players are active in community events, such as the Caroline County Civil War re-enactment, and attend theatrical performances at local theatre groups and professional performances whenever possible. Members of the Peake Players have appeared in productions of the Tred Avon Players, Church Hill Theatre, Chesapeake Music Hall, Cricket Players, the Prince Theatre in Chestertown, and CAPA, and have been involved with several local film projects.

Profits from the summer murder mystery are used in part to fund Performance Grants for active members of the Peake Players. All members are encouraged to apply.
