About me:

I have had the pleasure of working at Chesapeake College for over 20 years, starting as Reader Services Librarian and serving in my current position of Vice President for Technology and Academic Support for the last eight years.  Our division includes the departments of Administrative Computing, User Support, the Faculty Development Center, Networking and Telecommunications, the Library, the Academic Support Center, the Testing Center and the Webmaster.  One of the great strengths of Chesapeake College is the quality and commitment of the staff.  All of us believe in the mission of the College and in the importance of helping our students to achieve their educational goals.  To read about our goals for this year, click this link

My BA is from the "Great Books" program of St. Johns College.  I received my MLS from the College of Library and Information Science at UMCP in 1985.

Chesapeake Outdoors Club

Outdoors Club on Old Rag Mountain - 3,291ft.

The Outdoors Club provides members of the Chesapeake College community the opportunity to share mutual interests in outdoor recreational activities, including but not limited to: backpacking, biking, camping, canoeing, hiking, kayaking, rafting, and skiing. The club believes that participation in such activities supports a healthy mental and physical life.  This is a short video from one of our more popular hikes: the Billy Goat Trail.

Sustainability Operations Group

Sustainability is one of five core themes in Chesapeake College’s strategic plan. It drives our efforts to support the interconnected environmental, economic, and social needs of our local area and of the broader world.  Through sustainability we can meet “the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” (Brundtland Commission, 1989)  I co-chair the group with Associate Professor Greg Farley.

Chesapeake College Century Bike Ride -- Spring 2013 - 2014
