MidShore Community Foundation - Career and Technology Scholarship
The Mid-Shore Community Foundation has announced new scholarship opportunities for the 2017/18 Academic Year. Thanks to generous donors, Career and Technology Scholarships are now available to students in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot Counties. Area students planning for career and technology fields are invited to apply. Applications must be completed online at www.mscf.org and the submission deadline is March 31, 2017. The Chesapeake Women’s Network Talbot is accepting applications for their scholarship program for the 2017-2018 academic year. The mission of CWN Talbot is to foster personal enrichment and professional growth among women of the Mid-Shore region through an active network of collaboration, communication and support.
Each year, CWN Talbot provides financial assistance to qualified female applicants age 22 years and older in pursuit postsecondary education and training. Women from Talbot and surrounding counties are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The deadline for applying is April 30, 2017. CWN firmly believes in helping women improve their situations and their financial futures through higher education. We seek to help those who are eligible. If you or someone you know could use some financial help in pursuing or furthering her education, please download this year’s application.

Dorchester Chamber Foundation, Inc Jason T. Wise Scholarship for the 2017/2018 school year is open and ready for students to apply. This scholarship is for any high school senior or currently enrolled student who is a member of the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce, an employee of a member or has a parent or grandparent who is a member in good standing. Applicants must be 17 to 21 years of age and be committed to returning to Dorchester County after college graduation. The application will be available early December 2016 at www.dorchesterchamber.org.

3. The Western Union Foundation Family Scholarship - Both a student and their parent born outside the United States can apply for this scholarship. . Two family members must submit one application jointly for the program, and they can request up to $5,000 in scholarship funds per family. The Family Scholarship Program is helping immigrant/migrant fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, and brothers and sisters move up the economic development ladder through education. Deadline: Applications are due each year by November 15. Award recipients will be notified between January and June. Not all applicants will be selected for awards. Applications can only be submitted to one club. Your application will be reviewed by a panel of judges, but all information will remain confidential and will not be shared without your prior permission.

Provides the primary financial support for yourself and your dependents. Dependents can include children, spouse, partner, siblings and/or parents.
Has financial need.
Is enrolled in or has been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.
Is motivated to achieve your education and career goals.
Resides in one of Soroptimist International of the Americas’ member countries/territories (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guam, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Northern Mariana Islands, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, United States of America, Venezuela).
Has not previously been the recipient of a Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity or Live Your Dream Award.
Does not have a graduate degree.
Is not a Soroptimist member, an employee of Soroptimist International of the Americas or immediate family of either.
Has a Social Security number or Tax ID number. (This is required for tax purposes and is only necessary if you are a resident of the United States. You will not be asked to share this information unless you have been given an award.)
