
2010 Maryland Elections

Federal, statewide and local offices will be on the ballot this year in Maryland. Maryland voters will elect candidates to fill the following offices.
Federal Offices
- U.S. Senator (Senator Barbara Mikulski's seat)
- U.S Representatives (all eight congressional districts; the Eastern Shore is in the first district)
State Offices (elected on a statewide basis)
- Governor/Lieutenant Governor (elected as a team)
- Comptroller
- Attorney General
State Offices (elected by district)
State voters will fill all 47 State Senate and 141 House of Delegates seats. In Chesapeake College's service region, the following seats will be filled.
State Senate
- District 36 (Caroline, Cecil, Kent and Queen Anne's counties)
- District 37 (Caroline, Dorchester, Talbot and Wicomico counties)
House of Delegates
- District 36 (Caroline, Cecil, Kent and Queen Anne's counties)
- District 37 A (Dorchester and Wicomico counties)
- District 37 B (Caroline, Dorchester, Talbot and Wicomico counties)
Local offices
Voters in each county of Chesapeake College's service region (Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot counties) will elect candidates to fill the following positions: County Commissioners or Council members; State's Attorney; Clerk of the Court, Register of Wills; Judges of the Orphans' Court, Sheriff; and Democratic and Republican Central Committee members. School board members will be selected in Dorchester (2 of 5 seats), Kent (2 of 5 seats), and Talbot (4 of 7 seats) counties. A county-by-county breakdown in county commission and council elections follows.
- Caroline County: All three county commission seats will be on the ballot with winners elected at large and serving four-year terms.
- Dorchester County: All five county council seats will be on the ballot with winners selected by district and serving four-year terms.
- Kent County: All three county commission seats will be on the ballot with winners elected at-large and serving four-year terms.
- Queen Anne's County: All five county commission seats will be on the ballot, with four winners elected by district and the fifth elected at-large and all serving four-year terms.
- Talbot County: All five county council seats will be on the ballot with winners serving four-year terms.
