Part 2 -- Finding Source Material (Doing the Actual Research)


Here, in Part 2, you learn how to find sources using Chesapeake College Library materials in three formats, print, electronic and Web-based (Web sites).


To FIND biographical sources:

  • For BOOKS, search the Library's CHESCAT Online Catalog (a SUBJECT BROWSE search on franklin, benjamin works well)
    • To see how, complete this brief CHESCAT TUTORIAL.
    • Remote searching does NOT require ID + PASSWORD

  • For journal and reference ARTICLES, search these two ELECTRONIC DATABASES: American National Biography (ANB) and Biography Resource Center (BRC). In ANC, a QUICK SEARCH on franklin, benjamin works well. In BRC, a NAME / START OF LAST NAME on franklin, benjamin works well.
