E-Books Everywhere!
Chesapeake College students have access to thousands of e-books through the Chesapeake College Library website, www.chesapeake.edu/Library.
You can use them from any computer on campus, and you can use most of them when you are off campus.
What's an E-Book?
E-book stands for electronic book. It is an electronic version of a printed book that can be viewed on a computer. E-books for research are not downloaded in their entirety. You will search by keyword, subject, etc. within the text of an e-book for the pages that contain the information you need.
One E-Book at a Time
You can use e-books one at a time through the library's online catalog.
When you search for materials on a specific subject, like oceans, chances are you may retrieve both print books and e-books. An e-book record is identified by the (old) computer icon:

The globe is a web link that will take you directly to the content of the e-book, where you can search or browse within the book for the information you need.
To retrieve only e-books in the online catalog, do a general keyword search :

You can search many e-books simultaneously, in groups by subject or format, through the library's
As you scroll through the databases available to you, you'll see that some databases contain only e-books:
