Obtaining Materials from the LRC when you are a Distance Learning Student
Distance Learning students may borrow books, videos and DVDs,
and obtain copies of periodical articles through the LRC.
Books, videos,
DVDs:-
Use Chescat,
the online catalog, to identify titles.
Fill out the Request
for Materials form.
OR
Call the LRC,
410-827-5860, with a list of titles and call numbers.
Materials will be
mailed to you along with a postage-paid envelope in which to return them. Materials are due back 2 weeks after they are mailed. You
may renew by phone.
Periodical Articles: From the LRC
Home Page on the Internet, choose ELECTRONIC DATABASES. The full-text
of many articles is available to you through general periodical databases as
well as through subject specific databases. You will need a copy of the LRC
Databases Password Sheet to access the databases. The sheet can be emailed to you upon request.
Interlibrary
Loan:
We will submit your request
for books and periodicals not owned by Chesapeake College to other academic
and public libraries. Books will be mailed to you along with a
postage-paid envelope in which to return them. Periodical articles
obtained in print form will be mailed. Articles obtained electronically
will be emailed. You are not required to return periodical articles to
us.
