IV. Formatting
Specifications
The Education Department at Chesapeake College has
provided additional information to be used toward successful portfolio
development. This
information should not be viewed as a means to suppress creativity, but
rather a way to encourage professionalism and uniformity toward
achieving the overall outcomes.
- Each item chosen to display must be accompanied by a
reflection. Those
reflections must be completed on the form provided.
A sample form is located in the back of this booklet as well as
in the Chesapeake College Website (Learning Resource Center link).
- The portfolio must be contained in a two-inch binder and
include the following:

Name and Degree Program clearly on the front and spine of
binder

Include tabs, dividers and/or colors to designate clearly
each of the five required sections

Clear vinyl sleeves are required to house artifacts and
reflective analysis forms

Include a Table of Contents at the beginning of the
portfolio
- Photographs may be used provided they support items in any
given section.
- Professional and appropriate colors of ink and paper may
be used.
