Posted on Sunday, July 02, 2006
CAMBRIDGE The Chesapeake College Cambridge Center will offer tours, refreshments and an opportunity to register for Fall 2006 classes this Saturday from 5-9 p.m. as part of Cambridge Main Street´s "Second Saturday" event.
"We want the Cambridge Center to be an integral part of our community, and ´Second Saturday´ is a wonderful community event," said Cambridge Center Director Bob Boettger. "Our open house should be an opportunity for people who don´t know much about the Cambridge Center to stop in for some refreshments and learn more about the college."
Boettger is managing one of the "Second Saturday" events the pie-eating contest, which will take place right in front of the Cambridge Center on Race Street. The Center will also be staffed to assist prospective students by offering both information about Fall 2006 classes and an opportunity to register for courses.
The Cambridge Center began participating in the "Second Saturday" event in June and hopes to use this continuing opportunity to acquaint local residents with the Center. Nearly 400 credit students attended classes at the Cambridge Center this part spring, and 480 took classes there last fall.
