Posted on Wednesday, May 09, 2007
WYE MILLS - Chesapeake College will hold an admissions fair for area high school seniors on Thursday, May 24 from 2 to 6:30 p.m. in the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center, located on the Wye Mills campus. All high school seniors who plan to attend Chesapeake College in fall 2007 are welcome to attend.
"We wanted to provide a one-stop event that would allow high school seniors to finalize their college plans before their high school graduations," Petrichenko said.
Students will be able to complete admissions applications, take the academic skills assessment test, meet with a college adviser to plan out their fall 2007 semester schedules, and register for classes. Students may also register for summer 2007 classes at the same time.
The event will begin with a description of Chesapeake´s various career and transfer programs by Dean for Recruitment Services Kathy Petrichenko. Students will also learn about tuitions costs, campus activities and student support services. In addition, financial aid and scholarship workshops will be offered.
Parents are welcome to attend the event and special parental information sessions will be available.
The summer session will begin on June 11 and the fall semester will begin on August 27. Students and parents interested in attending this event should call Kathy Petrichenko at 410-822-5400, ext. 257 to reserve seats, or if more information is needed.
