Tuesday, October 16, 2007
WYE MILLS - Chesapeake College will host its annual Eastern Shore College Night on Wednesday, Nov. 14 in the college gymnasium from 6 to 8 p.m.
Representatives from more than 150 universities, colleges and technical schools will give students and their parents information about a variety of institutions. The event is sponsored by Chesapeake College and the school superintendents from Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne´s and Talbot counties.
College representatives from as far away as Michigan and Vermont will travel to the Eastern Shore for this comprehensive presentation.
"It´s an excellent opportunity for both students and parents to be exposed to a large number of colleges in a single setting. The evening offers students as early as the 10th grade a chance to begin focusing on their higher education plans," said Dr. Richard Midcap, vice president for Student Success and Enrollment Services at Chesapeake College. "We expect our usual large crowd."
Some of the schools scheduled to attend the event are: Salisbury University, East Carolina University, Bucknell University, Johnson and Wales, Cornell University, and West Virginia University. In addition, many other Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania colleges will send representatives to Wye Mills for the evening.
