Chesapeake College to Host Environmental Forum

WYE MILLS Environmental leaders from across the region will gather here for a global warming "teach in" on Thursday, Feb.5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rufus and Loraine Todd Performing Arts Center at Chesapeake College. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Louis Codispoti, research professor at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science at Horn Point, will give the keynote address "Climate Change Lessons from the Arctic: A Call to Action as We Enter the Anthropocene." His speech will be followed by the panel discussion "Jobs in a Green Economy" featuring James Woods of Mid-Shore Recycling, Paolo Fezzi of Creafill, Ford Schumann of Infinity Recycling and Rob Propes of Blue Water Wind
The event will also feature music by Ed Klein of the Royal Oak Musicians. Chesapeake Associate Professor of Biology Greg Farley will serve as moderator for an online forum at 1 p.m. The event will end with a discussion about legislative initiatives at both the state and federal levels.
