WYE MILLS Registration is now open for Chesapeake College´s popular summer enrichment camps for children.
The Kids on Campus program, scheduled for June 21 through August 6, offers a variety of sessions designed for elementary and middle school children.
The Kids on Campus courses are divided into sections for children entering grades 2nd to 5th, and for those who are entering grades 6th to 8th. There is also a Counselor in Training course for students entering 8th through 10th grades. Course topics include arts/crafts, astronomy, digital photography, Lego robotics, yoga, medical careers, dance, cooking, cheerleading, computers, guitar, video game animation, and ecological/wildlife studies.
"We are offering fun educational opportunities for children to help keep their minds stimulated over the summer in a safe environment. We are really excited about the course offerings this year. We have many talented educators or skilled professionals that will be teaching these courses," said Program Director Anne Slater.
Each program session is a half-day, with two sessions per day scheduled for each age group. Participants may choose to participate in one or two sessions per day. Kids on Campus sessions may also be combined with Chesapeake´s Future Stars sports camp sessions.
In addition to the program sessions, Chesapeake is offering morning and afternoon care with the Kids Club. The morning session will run from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and the afternoon session is from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
