Chesapeake IAL Announces Fall Line-up, Class Showcase

WYE MILLS The Institute of Adult Learning (IAL) at Chesapeake College will have a Showcase of Classes on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. in the Todd Performing Arts Center lobby.
The showcase will feature brief descriptions of upcoming classes and light refreshments will be served. Please call Anne Slater at 410-827-5810 if you plan to attend.
Classes are held on the Wye Mills Campus in the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The fall session, which begins in September, features courses that last four to six weeks.
Classes beginning in September include: "Writing Short Fiction", "Basic Drawing Techniques", "Digital SLR Basics", "China and India Join (and Reshape) the Global Economy", "New Species on the Shore", "U.S. History from the Civil War to the Cold War", "Contemporary Fiction Southern Perspectives", "Norman England" and "Maintaining a Financially Secure Retirement".
IAL will also sponsor field trips this semester, including a visit to Cassinelli Vineyard in Church Hill on Sept. 21, a tour of JM Clayton Seafood Company and walking tour of Cambridge on October 19, and a visit to the Museum of the American Indian in Washington on November 16.
