Chesapeake College mourns the loss of Vice President Michael D. Kilgus

Vice President Michael D. Kilgus died at his home on Saturday, Feb. 9. As vice president for administrative services, Mr. Kilgus led the facilities, financial and human resources operations at the college. An integral part of Chesapeake's administrative team for six years, Mr. Kilgus will be greatly missed.
A public memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, Feb. 18 at 4 p.m. in the Todd Performing Arts Center. The service will be immediately followed by a reception in the Caroline College Center.
A native of Muncy, Pa., Mr. Kilgus earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Chesapeake’s administrative team, he was the dean of administration at Garrett Community College for eight years. Locally, he served as President of Shore Leadership and was a member of the Talbot Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Kilgus, along with his wife Becky, lived in Easton. They have two grown children, Tanner and Kelsie.
The Kilgus family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Michael D. Kilgus scholarship fund at Chesapeake College. For more information about the memorial service, please call Susan Cianchetta at 410-827-5811.
