Public Invited to IAL Spring Showcase of Classes

Registration open for upcoming session

Posted on Monday, January 13, 2014

The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) at Chesapeake College will hold its Spring Showcase of Classes on Tuesday, January 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the lobby of the Todd Performing Arts Center. IAL instructors will share highlights about upcoming classes for adults 50 and older that will appeal to many different interests.

For example, participants can sign up to learn a new language, take a class to improve their computer skills, or choose to study history or current events. Several exercise classes offer programs that will help them stay in shape. Cooking enthusiasts will find opportunities to practice their skills using herbs and spices or creating cuisines from different cultures. How do you pick a bottle of French wine? The class on French wines provides tasting samples and information that might answer this question. Classes about the movies, art, literature and religion also are part of the spring curriculum.

IAL classes are therapy for the winter blahs. Participants can explore new subjects or discover more about a particular topic of interest. Come to the Spring Showcase, enjoy some wine and cheese refreshments, and become an IAL member. For more information, please contact Anne Slater at 410-827-5810.
