TPAC Kicks off Season with "Sleigh Ride Through the Holidays":
Monday, November 22, 2004
Push away from the Thanksgiving leftovers, the endless football games and come see "Sleigh Ride Through the Holidays" at the Rufus and Loraine Hall Todd Performing Arts Center at Chesapeake College. This original holiday musical review full of traditional seasonal songs and dancing will be presented on Saturday, Nov. 27, and Sunday, Nov. 28.
The show is a delightful swing through the season with memorable songs sung by Scott Clausen, Mark LaCoste, with special appearances by Shanna ZanDerwerker from New York City. The dancers are cast from both the Eastern Shore and greater Baltimore areas.
The scene opens as our merry choristers enter and take you on a sleigh ride in the opening of the show. Next we are "Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland" with the cast dreaming of sugarplums and special holiday fun. As the shoppers and children scurry from place to place, we find Scott Clausen telling us "It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas."
The show continues with dancing, children worrying about Mr. Freeny down the way, magical snow dances, and of course "What About Frosty?"
Director Richard Peterson, choreographer Paula Lynn, and music director Ruth Capobionco work to make "Sleigh Ride Through the Holidays" a new seasonal tradition. This is truly a family show.
"Sleigh Ride Through the Holidays" will be presented at 7 p.m. on November 27 and 3 p.m. on November 28. Tickets are $15 adults and $12 children /senior citizen. Enjoy a catered holiday brunch before the Sunday show at 1 p.m. for an additional $15 adults, and$8 children. For more information, please call the box office at 410-827-5867.
