Student Services

Your student life at Chesapeake College encompassing academics, extra- and co-curricular activities, service learning opportunities, and much more begins before your first day of class. It includes your search for the right academic major and career path, and participation in New Student Orientation and Freshman Seminar Course to help you get off to a fast start. The Office of First-Year Programs is dedicated to helping you make the most of your freshman year, including offering you access to Success and Interactive Learning (SAIL), a program that provides second-semester tuition stipends for successful completers. And it's never too early including the very first semester of your freshman year to begin developing your long-term academic plan. Advisors in Student Success and Enrollment Services will help you develop a plan that will allow you to successfully transfer to a four-year college or university, develop exciting career goals, or complete a degree that will train you for immediate entry into your career field.

While your academic success is of utmost importance, we hope you will sample some of the many other activities available to you. The Office of Student Life offers a wide range of clubs and if you don't find one to your liking, start a new one! Trips, cultural and social events, and volunteer activities are also available to you. These activities are fun, can teach valuable skills, and help you broaden your life experiences.

Chesapeake fields six intercollegiate sports men's soccer and women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball that compete against teams from around the state and region. Please check the Athletics webpage for more information.

Student life at Chesapeake is what you make of it but we are here to help you make it everything you want it to be.
