DENTAL ASSISTING PROGRAM
Train for a career as a Dental Assistant in this course series. Successful program completion qualifies the student to challenge the Radiation Health and Safety Exam (RHS) to become certified as a Dental Radiation Technologist. Students will register for all courses in the program at one time. Classes start in October and March.
PREREQUISITES: College Placement Test for Reading Comprehension, Dental Assistant Program Application, High School (or equivalent) Graduate

ORAL RADIOGRAPHY TECHNIQUES
Learn the fundamentals of radiography, safety, film processing and mounting. Successful completion of this course will allow the student to sit for the Dental
Assisting National Board RHS exam.

BLS HEALTHCARE PROVIDER COURSE
American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification is included for all Dental Assistant students. The course is taught according to the guidelines of the American Heart Association.

DENTAL ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP
Dental Assistant students who have successfully completed the Basic Dental Assisting and Oral Radiography classes can participate in a 45-hour clinical experience in one of Choptank Community Health System’s Dental Clinics

GENERAL CHAIRSIDE EXPANDED FUNCTIONS
Dental assistants who are employed in a dental office prepare for the EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant) Exam.
