Transfer Scholarships are available from a variety of sources, private foundations, University System of Maryland Regents, and the college or university itself. When it's appropriate, ex. Chesapeake College makes the recommendation for consideration, the transfer scholarship will be announced here. University System of Maryland REGENTS Scholarship - By Nomination Only

Regents Scholarships & Grants	Criteria
Kelly	Earn a 3.8 Grade Point Average or higher Associate’s degree preferred or a minimum of 56 credits completed Demonstrate financial need by submitting FAFSA Pursue any major leading to the bachelor’s degree at any USM institution

Required Documentation

Nomination letter from the community college president or designee

Scholarship Application

Personal Statement of the student’s educational and career goals

Official community college transcript – we prefer Electronic Transcript sent to USM Office, FICE code 007959

Unofficial copies or grade slips from all other colleges and universities attended

Résumé or listing of the student’s extracurricular and community activities

Evidence of the student’s scholarly and creative activities – limit of two items (can include scanned copies of artwork, photos, creative projects, research papers, published material, honors, awards, etc.)

One or two letters of recommendation from faculty or staff members at the community college

Please do not submit the application items in folders or binders - staples or clips are permitted.

The deadline for submission of the completed Regents Scholarship applications is May 22, 2018.

Maryland Community College Transfer Scholarship

2+2 Transfer Scholarship

2018-2019 Application available now in MD CAPS.

The 2+2 Transfer Scholarship is designed to assist and encourage transfer students from Maryland community colleges to attend a 4-year institution within the State. Students must be enrolled in an eligible accredited Maryland postsecondary institution.

APPLICATION

Who may apply: Students currently enrolled full-time or part-time as a degree-seeking student at a community college in Maryland

How to apply: Applicants for the scholarship must submit the 2+2 Transfer Scholarship application available through MD CAPS at http://www.mhec.state.md.us/financialAid/descriptions.asp

And complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov, submit an official college transcript reflecting that the applicant has earned an associate’s degree from a Community College in the State, and documentation the student if applicable, has registered with the selective service system

When to apply: Students are encouraged to complete a FAFSA application by March 1 for priority awarding. FAFSA applications submitted after March 1st will be considered as long as funding is available. Complete and submit the 2+2 Transfer Scholarship application and all supporting documents by August 31.

Eligible majors: All majors are eligible. This award is a grant and does not need to be repaid.
