Sometimes it's easy to overlook the obvious - and Chesapeake College is the obvious choice for Mid-Shore residents seeking educational opportunities in a comprehensive array of healthcare programs and services. These programs are responsive to the needs of individual learners and to the requirements of the region's workforce. There are currently a variety of degree, certificate and letter of recognition programs in the Health Professions department at Chesapeake College.
State-of-the-Art Health Professions and Athletic Center
The Health Profession programs are offered in our new state-of-the-art, 100,000-square-foot HEALTH PROFESSIONS AND ATHLETIC CENTER (HPAC). The HPAC houses an ambulance simulator, a state of the art digital radiology suite, surgical suite, hospital room and an apartment for simulating emergency response scenarios. The human patient simulators (HPS) are able to accurately mimic any disease, illness or traumatic injury and are physiologically correct so they “respond” appropriately to the medical treatment that the students administer. The center’s classrooms, including one designated for distance learning, are located on the first floor and feature state of the art technology.
The Health Profession programs prepare students as independent learners who are intellectually competent, technologically proficient, skilled in the application of learning, and who share the values and common goals of our culture. In addition, our students will be prepared to compete in the global marketplace. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to start a career in healthcare.
Our degree programs focus on preparing students with the knowledge, skills, and understanding required of healthcare careers. A crucial aspect of society, this industry is always growing, and expanding, creating a surplus of jobs in the medical field and opportunities that demand highly trained individuals. Our Health Professions and Athletic Center will give you a comprehensive, hands on experience so you can excel in your career. Please review the videos and program brochures to see which field most interests you, and make an appointment with an advisor to schedule, and take the first steps in completing your degree.
