  • The program consists of two noncredit courses that include supervised clinical practicum hours completed outside of the classroom.
  • A certificate of completion is awarded upon successful completion of the program.
  • Students must meet eligibility requirement with a background check.
  • Course Sequence (Students must register for both CEH-434 and CEH-435 at one time):
    • Phlebotomy Technician Prep (CEH 433)
    • Phlebotomy Technician Theory (CEH 434)
    • Phlebotomy Technician Clinical (CEH 435)
  • Computer with webcam and strong internet connection required for successful completion.

How to Enroll

Complete Placement Testing

Email Admissions to request a Placement Testing Slip for Accuplacer: Reading Comprehension. Come to the Chesapeake College Testing Center to take the test. A minimum score of 230 is required to enroll in this program. To see if you qualify for an exemption, and find out more about the Accuplacer test, visit the webpage below.

*In order to enroll in this program, students must be at least 18 years old, and have a High School Diploma or GED.

Complete Prerequisites

Prior to enrolling, students must complete the 6-week course: Medical Terminology:  A Word Association Approach ($135).

Visit your doctor for a health examination and completion of a Health Examination Record.

Complete Phlebotomy Prep Course

We will send you the appropriate registration form to get started in the first course of the sequence, Phlebotomy Technician Prep (CEH 433), which includes a required background check.

Approval to Enroll

Once you’ve completed the Medical Terminology course, Placement Testing, and Health Exam, email us for approval to enroll. At that time, we will conduct a required background check, then send you the appropriate registration form to get started in the first course of the sequence: Phlebotomy Technician Prep (CEH 433).

Students will register for Phlebotomy Technician Theory (CEH 434) and Phlebotomy Technician Clinical (CEH 435) at the same time, upon completion of the Prep course.
