- The Community Interpreter International I This course will prepare students to facilitate meaningful communication between service providers and Limited English Proficient members of the community. Topics to be covered include: certificate program requirements, language proficiency test preparation, introduction to community interpreting, ethical principles and standards, and protocols and skills for community interpreting. Students must register for both CEX 812 9A and CEX 813 9A at the same time – these courses are linked with payment in CEX 812 only. Textbooks and testing are included.
- The Community Interpreter International II This course will prepare students to facilitate meaningful communication between service providers and Limited English Proficient members of the community. Topics to be covered include: strategic meditation, cultural competence, professional identity, and the role of community interpreters. Students must register for both CEX 812 9A and CEX 813 9A at the same time – these courses are linked with payment in CEX 812 only. Textbooks and testing are included.
- Spanish for Nurses This course is a comprehensive Spanish language course that provides immediate access to functional language skills for non-Spanish-speaking healthcare personnel.
- Spanish for Requesting Personal Information and Data This continuing education course is designed to provide immediate access to functional language skills for non-Spanish speaking individuals who may need to acquire information and data from Spanish speakers.
