High School Grads

First things first, congratulations! We’re here to now help you forge a path forward.

Whether you're thinking about transferring to a four-year school or if you've decided to stay closer to home to earn your degree (while saving money), we want you to know we're here to help get you there—wherever "there" may be.

Here's how to get started earning credits this summer:

  1. Browse our Summer Courses: We've listed them below for a quick overview, but you can also search in our system for more details and course descriptions.

  2. Apply Online: Completing our online application is always the first step. Once your application has been submitted, you'll receive an email confirmation with additional details (check in your SPAM folder if you don't see it in your inbox).

  3. Talk to an Advisor: Our advisors can help determine if you need to schedule placement testing, and explain how to submit your high school transcript to the Chesapeake College Registrar.

  4. Register for Courses: Once you're enrolled, you will be able to register for the summer courses of your choice.

  5. Explore Financial Aid & Scholarships: Reach out to our Financial Aid office with any questions you may have.

  6. Pay Tuition & Fees: Pay either at the time of registration, or by the due date on your bill. Deferred tuition payment plans are available to students whose bills exceed $100. Learn More.

  7. Get Ready to Learn: Check your tech, and make sure you have access to a reliable internet connection.

Complete an application online, then reach out to our Admissions Office, an Academic Advisor or our Financial Aid Office with any questions you may have. We're here and ready to help you find your path forward.

College Students at Home

Chesapeake College welcomes visiting students as an active part of our community. You're considered a "visiting student" if you are currently enrolled at another college or university and wish to attend Chesapeake on a temporary basis, like over the summer or winter breaks.

If you are a resident of Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, or Talbot counties, you may take courses here at a fraction of the cost of your four-year school.

Enrolling as a visiting student is easy:

  1. Browse our Summer Courses: We've listed them below for a quick overview, but you can also search in our system for more details and course descriptions.

  2. Apply Online: When filling out your application, select "Visiting Student" as your Admissions Status.

  3. Request a Visiting Student Letter: After you submit your application, ask your home college to provide a Visiting Student Letter granting you permission to enroll in a specific course or courses at Chesapeake College. This letter exempts you from the Accuplacer test for the semester in which you are applying and allows you to register for classes.

  4. Contact an Admissions Officer: Reach out to an Academic Advisor or Admissions Officer for detailed registration procedures for visiting students, and to submit your Visiting Student Letter.

  5. Pay Tuition & Fees: Once you register for classes, make sure you pay tuition and fees by the semester payment deadline date to avoid being dropped.

  6. Get Ready to Learn: Check your tech, and make sure you have access to a reliable internet connection.

Complete an application online, then reach out to our Admissions Office, an Academic Advisor or our Financial Aid Office with any questions you may have. We're here and ready to help you find your path forward.

For Parents

Our faculty and staff are dedicated to helping students find their path forward, and can connect them to the financial and academic support they need—perhaps now more than ever. Our multi-format classes are affordable, convenient and transferable. We've been offering online options for more than a decade, allowing students to earn college credits from home with all the same resources they'd receive if they were on campus.

Summer classes begin June 13th for eligible high school students, recent graduates, and visiting college students. By earning some extra credits this summer, your student will be ready for the next step this fall.

Talk to an Admissions Officer, Academic Advisor or our Financial Aid Office today to find out more.
We're here for you and happy to help you in any way that we can.
