Aleah “Shane” Solivio earns scholarship

Aleah Shane Solivio holds a flower while posing for a photo in a wooded areaUpward Bound student Aleah “Shane” Solivio earned a scholarship from the Mid-Eastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (MEAEOPP). MEAEOPP is the regional professional association for TRIO and educational opportunity personnel from Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Shane, a senior, will graduate this year from Easton High School. She plans to attend Rensselear Polytechnic Institute (New York) where she will major in mechanical engineering.

Shane serves in the Navy Junior ROTC at Easton High School and has a family history of military service.  In addition to earning a bachelor’s degree, Shane plans to join the ROTC at RPI. Upon graduation, she hopes to become an officer in the U.S. Navy and serve on submarines.
