Golf Tournament Nets $30,000 for Scholarships
Chesapeake College this fall exceeded a fundraising goal with more than $30,600 for athletic scholarships at the Annual Golf Tournament at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Resort in Cambridge. This year, 60 golfers and 39 sponsors participated in the annual tournament.
Each year the tournament raises money for the athletic scholarship fund. Last year the tournament raised $22,391 for athletic scholarships. More than 25 student-athletes are currently receiving Chesapeake College scholarships.
“The tournament is a vital fundraiser for our athletic department,” said Director of Athletics Frank Szymanski. “Without these scholarships, some of our student athletes would not be able to pay for college. These scholarships also aid in our recruitment of student athletes. All of the organizations that support us have our gratitude.”
