New Member represents QAC on Board of Trustees

Christopher Garvey of Chester was recently appointed to the Chesapeake College Board of Trustees.  A Severna Park native, he is the president and CEO of Associated Builders and Contractors Chesapeake Shores Chapter in Annapolis.

A resident of Queen Anne’s County for 22 years, Mr. Garvey has served on the construction management advisory councils of both Anne Arundel Community College and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

“I know how important Chesapeake College is to the community, and on a personal level, to my own family,” Mr. Garvey said. “My wife graduated from Chesapeake’s nursing program, and it was a wonderful experience for her as an adult student. Chesapeake is critical to preparing the local workforce for well-paying jobs here on the Shore. I look forward to being a part of an organization that does so much good.”

Mr. Garvey earned a bachelor’s degree in history and visual arts (double major) at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

He and his wife, Christine Garvey, have three children. Mr. Garvey coaches youth sports and is a board member for the ACE Mentor Program.
