Black History Month Luncheon will celebrate African Americans and the Arts
Celebrate Black History Month at the Annual Chesapeake College Black History Month Program on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Caroline College Center.
Tickets, including lunch, are $40 for general admission and $10 for students. Proceeds from the luncheon, sponsored by the Multicultural Advisory Committee, support the J.C. Gibson Scholarship. Friends in Faith and Chesapeake College students will provide entertainment for the event.
Dr. Sharon M. Pepukayi, superintendent of Talbot County Public Schools, will deliver the keynote address “African Americans and the Arts.”
Dr. Pepukayi’s more than 30 years in public education includes experience as elementary teacher, assistant principal, and principal in Delaware and Ohio. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Bennett College (NC), Master of Arts in Early and Middle Childhood Education from The Ohio State University, and Doctor of Education in Innovation and Leadership from Wilmington University (DE).
