Chesapeake Rates High Among U.S. Community Colleges

Chesapeake College ranked in the top fourth nationally of community colleges in a recent survey.

The survey, conducted by WalletHub, rated the colleges on 19 indicators of cost and quality. Chesapeake ranked 110 out of 667 community colleges. Of Maryland’s community colleges, Montgomery College rated highest in the national survey at 7th place.

“Our students recognize that Chesapeake is a smart financial choice when they enroll here. Once their journey beings here, they soon see that the instruction and resources available to them are top quality and designed to help them reach whatever goal they have in mind,” said President Clifford P. Coppersmith.

With transfer programs and workforce training, Chesapeake’s offerings allow students to begin bachelor’s degrees, earn associate’s degrees or acquire skills for direct entry into a career.

In addition, Chesapeake’s associate degree nursing program was recently rated among the best the Maryland.

RegisteredNursing.org, a nursing advocacy organization, rated Chesapeake College’s RN Nursing Program at #5 in Maryland for 2023. Nursing programs were assessed on several factors which represent how well a program supports students towards licensure and career entry.
