The Chesapeake Scaries

Outdoor Halloween thriller comes to college cornfield

WYE MILLS – Enjoy the chills and thrills of Halloween at Harvest Horror, a new immersive experience in the cornfield at Chesapeake College Oct. 20-29.

Dr. Rob Thompson, associate professor of theatre, and Kevin Brown, executive director of the Todd Performing Arts Center, teamed up to create this original production.  The storyline and staging are designed to both entertain and terrify visitors in search of a good scare this Halloween season.

Presented for a mature audience, the production features monsters and medical procedures gone wrong. This fully immersive experience is outdoors on Chesapeake’s main campus on the evenings of Oct. 20, 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29.

Visitors will take a guided tour of Dr. W.’s mad science experiment in the field, and meet the colorful characters working for and against the doctor’s designs.

The experience lasts about 45 minutes and requires more than a mile of walking. Entry tickets are timed and advance ticket purchases are strongly encouraged. Tickets are $20 adults/$15 students and must be purchased online at www.harvesthorror.com.

Executive staff for the production are Savannah Verrette (production coordinator), Thompson (director) and Brown (technical director).
