Funding Program Promises Improvement

Funding Program Promises Improvement

Students hoping to secure funds for college through the Community College Promise Program will find a more streamlined process this year after a decentralization plan gained approval during the 2023 Maryland General Assembly. With the new changes, students will obtain approval for Promise funding through their community college rather than the Maryland Higher Education Commission. The new system eliminates previous administrative barriers.

Streamlining the process will allow more students to benefit from the program.

Both President Clifford Coppersmith and Board of Trustees Chair Reza attended Gov. Wes Moore’s bill-signing ceremony in May.
