Student Experience Enhanced by New Deans

Student Experience Enhanced by New Deans

As part of an institutional reorganization focused on helping students, three new deans were named this fall.  All three dean positions were filled by current Chesapeake employees.

Melina Baer is Dean for Students and Learning, Chandra Gigliotti is Dean for Academic Administration and Online Learning, and David Harper is Dean for Faculty and Teaching

“The three deans’ positions have been designed to respond most directly to students’ learning needs and to the support services that will enhance their learning at the College,” said Vice President for Workforce and Academic Programs Clay Railey. “Further, since the student experience, while diverse in its range of contact points with the college, is singular in its focus on obtaining the skill sets they need for their career, it is envisioned that the deans will work collaboratively to address from multiple points of view the singular goal of the student in achieving the skills s/he needs to be successful in their career, either immediately or later in the future.”
